Salmon Cakes Normal

Salmon: Used fresh (1 week frozen) wild Atlantic salmon baked first at 350 degrees for 20min wrapped in foil with olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper. Instead of garlic powder, used the same amount of minced garlic from a jar. For herbs, only used parsley flakes from a shaker and some fresh cilantro. Added some chopped onions and green onions.
Slaw: Used old Napa cabbage- did not chop fine enough. Only used parsley flakes and cilantro for herbs. It was tasteless so added more salt + pepper + lemon juice + chopped almonds. Maybe would taste better with time to soak since the cabbage slices were thick. If not, would just add sliced fresh apples next time.
Overall: Ate reheated on pan. Possibly cut too many corners with spices but not worth the trouble. Salmon is salty alone, better balanced with sour slaw but not as good as plain baked salmon.
Maybe would try again with low-effort canned salmon.
